POTM Submission. John Dory
Submitted by Buz on Thu, 2017-01-05 12:08
Thought i would throw up my John Dory as a POTM contender. Went 48cm and 2.14kg. Got it on a SP whilst targeting Dhuis in about 50m of water off Busselton. Of course it was eaten, and my word they really do taste amazing :-)
Cheers, Buz.

That is one top eating fish.
That is one top eating fish.
I've only ever caught one, about 17-18 years ago out from Rockingham.
It's hard to name your favourite eating fish, but if I was forced to pick one it would be John Dory !
Sadly the one I caught fought like a wet sock......................

Used to catch them very
Used to catch them very regularly in New Plymouth NZ as a youngster on my fathers boat. Then considered the "Red Emp" of NZ.
Oh I wish there was more around here, but I suspect they are happy to stalk Bullseyes etc and cant compete with the more aggressive Pinks, Dhu's, blackarse etc for regular baits, arti's.
Have seen a few diving over the years when I did.
