Looks like ya ordered it to size for him well done young fella Tag and release catch him again in ten years mark it off the list now onwards and upwards in size
Alex has been a very keen fisherman for about the last 3 years with a state record 14kg wahoo on 10kg line at last years Gamex resulting in a couple of game rods and matching reels. Every arvo after Jeff knocks off he picks Alex and Axel up from school and its home, get change from school duds and off to the beach, chucking lures , sticking the net in for bait or paddling their kayaks or snorkelling, tough life but someones gotta do it.
Gave him a coupe of fish id charts when he was a real nipper and it didn't take him long to learn each specie and how many stars on on eating qualities each had.
Such a tiny marlin, but I'm sure the next one will be both soon and big. Matter of time surely. Just wait til he catches one bigger than your PBS Jeff, haha.
thanks alot everyone he is so pumped after that one ,we were trolling along the islands today and he is on again same size fish after 2 mins he lost it ,he was spewing
with in 1.5 hours we had lost 5 marlin [4 under 10kg] and 1 about 40kg ,was a great day
Alex got a 9.2kg mac on 10 witch i thought was going to go line class but didnt he was so devo:d ,the 8kg and 10kg line classes are still wide open ,last day tomorrow we are hoping to go line class
1 day left ,im the proudest father alive and i would say Dad [carnarvonite] would be the proudest pop out there
Sorry to burst a bubble but Pauls identification is wrong a black marlins dorsal does not shrink as it grows it is the same as an adult marlins dorsal when it is a juvinile. it is a small sailfish and can be verified by checking on the internet,

Good one Alex
Finally got you first billfish, took a while but now the next ones will come a lot quicker.
Bet Paul Worstelling asked you for some of your secrets on how to catch fish because I reckon you are the better fisherman.
