Nice day on the G's

Got a few good GT's today including this thug.  Geez I sleep well after stretching the arms on a few of these!

Yeah Adam, it's been a few weeks.  Just that time of the year unfortunately!  Oh well, can't be clear sky's and light winds all year round..

Shaun, nah my scales only go up to 10kg.  Probably in the 20's.

cheers,

steve

Nice fish mate. How far do you need to travel from the ramp to get onto these G's?

Thanks guys,

John, can get some real good GT's around 30km from the ramp, though today we went around 40k's

Kasey, is that the one where they measure girth etc?  I'll check it out but I'm thinking of getting some scales and making up a sling so I can get a quick accurate weight without damaging the fish.

 cheers,

steve

correct

correct steve
girth and length. length is pretty easy, but girth is a bit tricky... would need a wet deck and a hand.

dont know if its better than a sling, but i know of a few captains in asia that use 'spring dial scales' like these:

of course much bigger with a flat cradle on top, and up to 50kg. i'm not sure if you can find one easily here though. just some ideas
