Josh's winning mack
Submitted by mullows on Tue, 2009-11-24 17:37
Went out yesterday with Daisy, his fam and my young bloke Josh in the Nickol bay game fishing clubs family mackerel comp. He managed this 12.2kg mack (3rd of 3 for the day and first macks he has caught) to take out the sub junior class of the comp. Micks daughter also got a nice one as well (her first). Weather was a bit blowy but was a fantastic day out.
Cheers

Line Class
Great effort from the young fella. What line class were you running mullows?
Trolling for them or floating out baits?

Trolling for them John on
Trolling for them John on 10kg. Lure in close and the gars staggered a bit further out. I had a hookup on one rod with the lure but it didn't stick, and as he was pulling the other line in he got that fish. He's been ticking a few off of late which is good to see. Now just got to get him that barra

Speed
I'm assuming that you would have been trolling fairly slowly if your pulling gars.
