Who owns a big SURTEES gamefisher or sportsfisher

Gday Everyone.
Still shopping around for an upgrade to the quintrex and accidently came accross the SURTEES dealer in perth. Does anyone own or ridden on one of the above mentioned boats?

deck space from 6.7 too 7.3
Looking at the 6.7 game fisher and the salesdude keeps trying to talk me into the bigger 7.3 sportsfisher.. But from what i can see the deck space is the same.. and for those few weekend trips i do, its just a swag on the deck half cut anyhow

Your not the first person to mention something along lines nathan.
I live up north, so once ive got the boat, they wont see it again anyhow. Im just not sure im my local lads (geraldton) will be able to do any required warrenty work ( in the off chance something on the hull does stuff up) motor wise thou, ill ensure i get what ever motor that can be looked after by the right parties up @ hone
for all the ppl that have been out on them- what motor setup's were they running.. Any ideas to improve if starting from scratch??

worst back up
the worst back up I have experienced was from Razorline I bought a centre console of them , the bloody deck started cracking up with in 12 months and do you think they would help me " send it back to perth " was what they said being I was in K town wasn't really an option , ended up getting Mario Mangano who was the Rio marine dept ali specialist to weld the deck up , later in frustration I sold it as it had cracks every where , Mario reconed Razorline had used crapy ali , I saw the boat about 4 years after I sold it it was full of ali cancer , oh yea thanks Razorline for the back up at the time or rather the lack of it wont be buying another boat of you

k-town.
Peter.
Im guessing your K-town is Karratha?? Im about midway that high, but got a buddy up there that i cant wait to visit (with my rods & gear)
I'm hoping that buying a surtees will mean i get some decent workman ship on the hull. With the motors, i just got to make sure i stay to the few that have "agents" in town just in case. I would be pissed if i were told to go back to perth, so would hate to think of "chats" you had with them up there regarding that trip.

Something to keep in mind is
Something to keep in mind is that with motor servicing some dealers will tell you, you have to get them serviced by a yammy dealer (for a yammy) etc. this is not necessarily the case.
When I got my new yammy I was told it had a 5 year warranty if serviced by a qual yammy dealer and 3 year warranty if serviced elsewhere.
Mine will be serviced by my normal non yammy mech and if I have a problem I will be asking for the 5 year warranty regardless. Under statutory warranty law I would argue the motor was serviced annually and should be expected to last the five years without any issues. Despite what they say I would have a good case.
I don't care what they offer regarding warranty's I only care about what I am entitled to under warranty laws....

Warranty.
Thats a very going point there paul... Sounds like you know a bit about the legal system which would be a bonus.. The lads a deal with at home now are the local yammy dealer anyhow, so thats a bonus i guess.

Have dealt with a few
Have dealt with a few warranty issues on various things so learnt over the years.
I never pay for an extended warranty they are a rort (why pay for something you are entitled to by law for free).
Had a TV with a 3 year store warranty replaced after 4 years use.
Had a radiator with 12month 20,000km warranty replaced after 14 months and 40,000km on the clock.
I have had ongoing issues with the Yammy dealer (in SA) that fitted my motor - not with the motor itself but the fitting side of things. Apart from the fact it is easier for me to get it serviced locally to where the boat is stored I have lost faith in their ability to do things right. Something which will weigh in my favour if I have any warranty issues in this regards as they will be hard pressed to argue that they would have been able to service the motor better than my mech given their track record.
