which prop to use

i have another question, this time about props, with my 30hp mariner i have two props with it one a 9 and 7 /8 x 10 1/2 f and another one 9 and7/8 x 11 1/4 f what is the difference between them, and which one should i use.we dont go out far just fish around the sounds.

prop sizes vary with what boat you have and what you are doing with your boat. first of all you need to find out what revs your motor should pull then test both the props and see which is the closest! being a small motor this would be hard to do so i would be talking to a mechanic or your local mariner dealer they would be able to point you in the right direction!! if your pitch is too small you will over rev your motor! but if its to high you may not get your maximum revs or fuel economy out of your motor!
