weekend
Went out a couple times this weekend
Friday off work, went out from Two rocks. Slow day but fantastic weather, was very calm.
lots of fish about, sounder was lit up everywhere we went, but not many fish were interested....except the sambos they were everywhere!! ranging from 5kg to 12kg
Managed to hook quite a few, landed a few and busted off on a few (lost 2 $40 jigs :( )
also caught a couple pinkys, but was very slow. I think there were plenty of dhus around, could see them on the coral in 1's or 2's but just didnt want to bite a thing.
Then last night went for a fish with scano down a local spot. Been a while since we'd done some land based stuff (first time since i bought the boat).
started off quite slow, but once again the weather was great, nice sea breeze, little swell. Just after dark the tailor came about. We probably landed about 12 or 14 between us, ranging from 35-40cm. Only kept a couple each for a feed and rest were released.
Renewed my faith in shore based fishing thats for sure.

yeah tell me about it, was awesome in the morning.
everyone i spoke to at the ramp said they had nothing, only 1 dhu was caught.
But like i said, plenty of fish on the sounder.
We started about 10 mile out, then 14 mile out, then out to the bank. plenty of fish showing up in all locations, but not much was biting.

two rocks friday
I went out to key biscayne first thing beautiful day calm light breeze soon as I arrived 3 massive whales turned up and swam around the boat for the next two hours with one hook up though I dont think it noticed , it did make the fishing harder than it already was with heaps of fish on the sounder and even more swimming around the boat showing no interest at all , by 11 Id had enough so decided to head out deep while it was calm on the way out spotted some action and did a drift result 2 dhueys 12.6kg and a 10.8kg very happy I cruised around for another couple of hours but apart from a 2kg pinky it was quiet . The dhueys where in 32mts and very lively bit more effort than usual to get them in , a very enjoyable day .
