My Trophy is now gone.
We had 2 great years and did about 400hrs together. Great fishing great diving and great boating.
To everyone that said my US boat would crack and sink, it didnt haha!
You should have bought it Petermac, was a good buy!
Couple of my Favourite pics of the boat !
So if anyone needs a deckie on weekends let me know:
Have RFBL, RST, Cray license, Abalone License
Can tow/ launch up to 3.5T
Happy to bounce around in the sound or head to deepdrop
have all my own gear minus deepdrop.

Yeh was brilliant, just going back to ali. Something i can throw on the beach and sleep 3 people on the deck. More deckspace is the main reason for getting a new boat.

40 foot Bertram with one of those giant US quad axle trailers and an F650 to tow it is what Ive heard
Give a man a mask, and he'll show you his true face...
The older you get the more you realize that no one has a f++king clue what they're doing.
Everyone's just winging it.

Your crayfish scare me.
Trophy boats are nice. Like many of the big USA boats. I'll be watching with interest of your commentary in a big Ali boat.

Congrats on the Sale
Vin, great boat with some good memories by the looks, sold mine late last year and have been struggling to find the new one since! I'm sticking glass, as above will be keen to see and hear about the new rig when you find it.

Why you headed back to Ali?I
Why you headed back to Ali?
I currently have a 6m Ali and looking to go to a glass boat for more comfort, deep dropping, sleeping, kids etc looking at a Seaswirl striper 2301 or a BW2350
I am a bit torn though i have never been on a big glass boat and everyone tells me once you go to glass you wont go back. Why you going from Glass to Ali whats the big advantage?
Only concern i have is i currently beach launch and i am concerned i wont be able to do that anymore.

The ride of glass is very hard to go back from to ali for sure. All the things you mentioned will be good from either of those boats. The seaswirl being the best value and the bw being the best of the best.
I think both boats are over 2.5m wide which means you need overwidth permit. Both boats loaded will be well over 3T and on a skid trailer with be very very hard to beach launch.
I am going back to ali for the main reason to do extended island trips, beaching, shallow reefs ect ect. Also wil ali better deck space and build exactly how I want.
At this boat I want the weight of glass is not a option.

Seaswirl is a great boat but
Seaswirl is a great boat but just be sure to check beam width of all u.s boats that size if you are planning on towing.
Thats why vins trophy was so good. .. slips just inside max width for towing without a permit or restrictions by memory.
Seems to go mostly ignored by authorities but its the insurance company I'd be more worried about. They deal in millimeters when it comes to paying out dollars.
Good luck with the search.
Cheers

Yeh your correct and thats
Yeh your correct and thats why I bought my trophy under 2.5m wide. The new rule means you csn tow up to 2.7m at night now. Just no fwys so not as much of a hindrance.
True most people will never get pulled over if they dont have the oversize flags. The insurance companies know the rules but so dont chance it!
