Snap Snap time!

Well its that time of year again ..... yep pinky time!!

My very keen cousin Jimmy (James) said " Ryan take me snapper fishing " and whilst he has his own boat it was more of a catch up/fish sesh as we've both been busy!

Jimmy's so keen and full on energy haha .... like I was many years ago .... well nearly 20 years now since I started targeting inshore metro pink snapper!

We went out on my boat late yesterday arvo and located fish straight away on my Furuno sounder. I dropped anchor and as soon as the baits were flicked ..... we were on ...... NICE!

We both got 2 fish each and bagged out before sundown .... Happy Days!!! Cheers Ryan

Thats why he owns a tackle store & successful fishing show, while the rest of us drool with envy whenever Ryan posts up pics of his fishing adventures.

Top catches there, Ryan and Jimmy!

 Too easy!!!

Good work as usual Ryan, up north of the river I can never spot a school of snapper on the sounder on or around the 3mile, so instead we just find likely looking ground, anchor up and burley, usually still get a few that way.

Thanks fella's for your comments

Azza, I will PM you more info!

Cheers Ashen for your comment

Paul, once you know what to look for it gets easier but your way is a common practice for many anglers ..... and works

* I went out late yesterday and ignored my normal spots even though one spot had a big school of snapper. I was on a solo recon mision to find a new spot (despite having many) and after some driving around I found a school/new spot .... dropped a drift baited scaly and whammo on ..... job done so headed in

I bumped into a mate back at the ramp who was keen to take the fish for the family and took this quick pic!
