Slippery as a eel ..

Something different for me yesterday catching this fella , it ended up doing a houdini twisting up and dehooking itself off . Which was a bonus because no one volunteered to grab the bugger .
Fairly quiet day on our spots but got a feed , Skipper Duges salvaged the day with a dhu .. and a good size black ass . We kept the one sambo as he doesn’t mind his sambo / potato patties .
Fisheries research boys back at the ramp , most probably not the best place to set up but it was pretty quiet ..
Good to get out been all work and no play for a while ..

Great second photo
Seen several smaller versions - that one is a specimen - pity you didn't measure it as it would surely go on the record board (for most undesirable species)
Hate the slime !

Nasty
Great photos of the eel, especially the second one. Nasty looking piece of work.

nice feed chris often come
nice feed chris
often come across an eel when we get our abalone ,
they love to sneak out and steal an easy feed or bit you if your sticking your hand in close to their lair , gloved or not lol
also sometimes get one in a cray pot bait basket , more on the winter reds than any other time ime

not eals but sea snakes
when I lived up north if we saw a sea snake we would drop over the side for a dive as we saw them as a good sigh as it was good reef country ( that was back in the days of paper sounders)
