Dreamboat (fisho style)
Looks the goods for sure Andrew.
Having seen it during construction, I know your getting a very high quality, well finished boat for your money.
Looking forward to seeing how she goes on the water, like a rocket I'd reckon.
Its taken a while to get it up and out of the factory but worth the wait, she looks amazing. Congratulations.
Cheers

I like it
but I still dont get the point of a "walk-around" if you have to be an anorexic 10 year old child to be able to walk-around it?
I assume the cab is hinged, which is a brilliant idea - I like that for towing long distances. Also love the turbo diesel set-up with good tank / range and the the fact that it doesn't protrude into the cockpit very much - nothing worse than a massive great big engine box in the middle of your deck taking up fishing room.
I'm guessing you'd be looking at $100k+ for that?

Awesome
Magic looking rig, definately customised for the serious fisho. Looks great with the fishwrecked sticker too, must have bumped up the price a little too.

Hopefully a Reeltime Mag full report coming soon
Just got to convince Andrew he needs to get his Abrolhos Deckie onboard again for the sea trials.
As long as he doesn't expect me to catch his rod and reel for him again.
Cheers

Hey Andrew are you going to bring the boat up for the festival?I know the rest of Australia is in resession but its hard to know it up here.Reckon you would sell at least one like last year. There are few looking to upgrade still and the weathers still not too bad.
cheers

Andrew if you would like you could launch the boat down here and i could drive it up to karratha. That way you would only need to tow up a trailer .Just think of the fuel you would save.I would be happy to help you out .lol

Wow
If the figure in the magazine was right ($175k), then my enthusiasm for this unit has waned somewhat. Its nice and all, but thats a pretty high price tag IMO given the "stock standard" Abrohlos 8000 comes in at near enough $100k.

Pricing
A couple of points to clarify in regards to pricing.
There is a version of the Abrolhos, not the stock standard that won WA Boat of the Year for 2008, but a version called the Abrolhos Sprinta that is available for just under $110k.
When you then apply the differences such as motors, construction and options, we can certainly justify the pricing.
As we have always done we are trying to keep the pricing competitive and factory direct, hence why no dealers, but value and perception is in the hands of the holders.
The Abrolhos Sprinta represents great value for the price and allows a big boat to be owned without a reduction of quality.
The bait board on the Rat is not so much a bait board as a working area, if you want a standard style bait board then it can be added, but if we put everything on the boat then the price would become ridiculous and half the stuff wouldn't be used.
In the first 2 sea trials we have been very satisfied with performance, with a top speed of 36 knots, but more importantly, cruising at 25 knots, she was only burning 22/23 litres an hour with 6 guys on board. The Yanmar 260hp deisel has great thrust puts the boat on plane very easily.
Thanks for your comments and yes it has recieved a lot of good interest locally, but also from over east as is very well suited for the trailer based game fishers.
Regards
Andrew

How about some water shots Andrew
The guys up here would like to see how she floats?I can understand about the options thing Andrew but this is your showboat and I believe that the average mug(and Im one of them) wants to see the good stuff, yes it can be optioned later but you have to impress both parties at that price(husband and wife)and she can be interested in different things other than how it floats ,fisherbilty and that it has a great donk (they do wear the jewllerly for a reason you know)for the fellas who havent seen it there are alot of excellent ideas on the boat such as the bleed tank and viewing ports to see underneath the hull situated in the kill tanks. The fact that its a concept/project boat is fantastic as we all want manufactures to listen to there customers but rarely do they do so.My mate has the Abollos and is the happiest boat owner I know. Again well done Commodore Im sure it will be a great success please keep listening to your customers

still waiting for someone
to come up with an 8 meter boat on a trailer for under what you can buy a commodore for.The rat is up around 180000 but with that in mind it also has a diesel in it that will cruise at mid 20s and top out in the mid 30s i would prob go for the twin 150 honda option the diff in price is alot of petrol in the tank .What type of speed an range do the abrols get with twin 150 hondas ?

centre console
would need a cab the rat could sleep 5 at a pinch if not 3 and a sh@t load of gear. The walkaround cab like the rat is up in the same ballpark. The other one i like is the 8 meter prowler but again not as much room as the rat so yet to find a better price for amount of boat than this.Nice boat all the same huggyb but you have been on makos so you will know it is hard to beat in the value for money stakes and i think the rat is in that category as well.

I'm not disputing they are nice
Personally I think the Rat is too expensive for what you get. But maybe thats just me. There are other boats I'd spend $180k on before that one.

i probably would not
go the diesel that would bring it down alot.$180000 grand opens up a fair few boats. The thing for me is it would need to be a trailer boat as $6000 plus dollars a year for a pen plus lifting plus the fact i cant just take it to exxy or karratha at the drop of a hat is the real decider for me.The sprinta with twin outboards is still good value imo.Matt i am still chasing photos with a couple of people on the back if i cant find one we will just need to take the two allrounders out for a test drive and compare.Of course we wont take any rods with us purely a testing exersice

I think the rat is in a fair price range for its size, ,but i think for what you get shes up there ,how many other boats come with the things the rat has,I don't know of many, this boat is not for every one only the die hard fisho,I would be intrested if i had the money..Its a boys toy,if i was taking the wife and kids fishing or to rotto then i guess i would be looking at somethig a little different..But for the fisherman shes a good one.

I think your right, awesome boat...
Just not many people who could justify sepnding 180k on a fishing boat...well im sure there are plenty of people who could justify it....but not yor average joe thats for sure.
could buy a pretty nice ex cray boat for about that...the weather would never stop you fishing if youre in one of them :)

i think i would
go the twin outboard option. That way when i do my north stuff i can get the whole leg out of the drink. It would suit my fishing better the rat with twin 150 hondas may well be in the driveway in a couple of years time when the troops get a bit bigger. The allrounder is going north next year for a long trip and i cant wait.Off to exxy to get the bro in law a billfish. We will launch from the marina and will not see the trailer again for a week.Go to the murions then peak across to long island then mackie island out to airlie and a couple of special gt spots then work our way back.Yea baby im excited all ready the allrounder is a great boat for the trip but the rat would be better.

Twin outboards
Twin Honda 150' would see the boat come down to around $165k and range would be around 500 kms or 270 nautical miles.
The diesel adds a fair bit to the boat price but you do get a huge benefit in range.
At the mandurach Boat show we will also have a new Abrolhos Center Console that will be priced from $103,000 with a 225 Honda.
It will be a great boat when you see the deck area, and also storage.
As always motor selection is up to the client.
Thanks heaps for all the feedback.
