Pretty Sinkers
Submitted by Pete D on Tue, 2007-10-30 08:28
Got hold of some plastic powder from a friend who works at a technical school. They use it to coat the handles of garden tools.
Thought I would test it on a few snapper leads. Tried one....and couldn't stop myself
Pity, only had yellow though.
Heat the sinker, dip and roll. Too easy. Produces about a 2mm thick coating.
Cheers Pete
ps Trying to find out where you can get the powder from. This lot has been in the cupboard for over ten years.

projects
You've always got little projects going on Pete......hehehe
I do like, the yellow for the release weight appeals to me ie seeing the weight come up before marking my sides. Try calling Powderline (Wangara) i think....ask for Gary, they maybe able to help!

They look the goods just watch if you head north with them! We used to do the same thing up at broome but with black on all our leads because the bluddy GT's and queeneis nail your sinker! Should work as a bit of an attractant down here though.
Keep it tight, reeeeeeel tight!

Found out what it is. Mate
Found out what it is. Mate has now ordered a 20kg bag for the school ($143), but in white this time. Apparently it is the stuff used to coat metal fridge shelving; so can take some punishment.
