Hi guys,
Looking at cuddy cabs around 5 - 5.5m.
The brands I am interested in are Haines Hunter and Haines Signature.
Which of these two brands would you recommend?
Cheers.

same same mate, out of the same factory in the end, think toyota and lexus in the end it's just cosmetic and some other small features. Won't be dissapointed with either.

Different
Completely different factories and nothing to do with each other. Both make good boats.
Haines stopped being involved with Haines Hunter years ago.
Theres quite a few models both make in that size. Anything in particular you are looking at?

Yep. Haines and haines sig are different boats. I love the haines v17s in that size range. 35 years and same hull with very few modifications. Hard to find anything in that size that rides anywhere near as well.
Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

both good boats
I have a 6 meter hunter , one of the heaviest built hulls (1150kg's) made along with seafarer's.
mate had a 5.42 sig. that was a good boat. just it was underpowered with a yammy 115 4st and needed a foil when loaded up
don't think you'll go wrong with either. both been in the business a long time
If I spent half as long fishing , as I do reading this bloody forum , I'd be twice the fisherman I am.

i have seen both on the water and on land , they both have a great look about them and handle the water well. never heard of anything negative about either, you will make a good choice either way, just pick the one which is most suited to you. make sure the donk is in good working order

Are you buying brand new or 2nd hand
finding the right 2nd hand Haines are slim pickings in west. Haines are great boats, and if you are buying 2nd hand then also consider the Southwind SR17

I have a Haines Hunter C/Cab,that i cut the cab in half to make more forward deck room its 5.8mtr and run a 150 yammie 4. You get a bit wet when its rough and they are a narrow boat,so a bit back and forth when on the drift but it compensates for that with the way it cuts through the waves>Trim tabs helped but i got sick of adjusting them and took them off so competent deckies are good enough trim control. All in all its a great boat and would never go back to an alli.If you buy one you wont be disapointed make sure its not underpowered.

I have the haines hunter 5.65 center console, I've been in lots of boats over the years and its one of the best I've been in for comfort and non slappy rides. Couldn't be more happy (cheers for the heads up allrounder)

i've had both
I had a signature 650f with a Suzi 200 4 stroke and now have a Haines Hunter 680.
Hulls on the signature's are a bit different (variable dead rise) and that gives them more stability at rest.
he Hunter's are usually heavier and they have a deeper Vee. I think my current boat is a better when powering into chop. Due to the deep vee and the weight.
I would have either again.
cheers

Yep, I have signature 650f.
Yep, I have signature 650f. The variable deadrise does give awesome stability at rest, but the drawback then is it bangs a little bit more in the chop. Still is a beautiful ride, but need to trim the motor right in. I have been in hunters, they are heavier and with the deep vee they carve through the chop with ease, however, then at rest they rock around a lot more.
Both boats are made to very high standard and they are great to fish from.
