need help painting dinghy

My brother and I have been doing a 12ft dinghy project and we wanted to get some advice before we paint the hull. We’ve removed all the old paint so we were thinking of purchasing the paint in the next few days and wondered what to get and is it possible for us to apply it with a spray gun. We were hoping for a glossed finish like on new boats so we went sure whether this is possible for us to achieve without getting it professionally done.

firstly, you have to make
firstly, you have to make sure the surface is clean of dirt or dust , then use a primer to make a surface that paint will stick to, next is the fun bit applying a first coat evenly but not too thick, let it completely dry then sand that back with a very fine wet and dry , wash it down and allow to dry again then repeat the process (not primer) several more times remembering to sand back lightly between coats which reduces the roughness and with the right paint it will give you a nice shine, when you have put the final coat on and you are happy with the shine then look at a sealer which will dry harder. yeah its a long slow process but its worth doing right the first time.

There is also those flowcoat
There is also those flowcoat finishes. Perhaps someone that knows more about glass can comment?
I think that its a paint/spray-on two-part resin, you will have to have UNREAL surface prep to paint it though...

poly u 200
Use a two pack paint too mate polyurathane 200 is the best stuff I know all the other shit will fade/scratch a good etching primer's the go to go to protec paints they will point you the rite way... if you really want a good finish after the primer and top coat get a good clear coat on there and spaying it on is the only way dont forget to use a good painting mask with the two pack it's knarly stuff will bugger you lungs very quickly the paints worth the extra effort its the only thing that lasts on drill rigs anyway!!!! you can also polish out any runs with this stuff once it drys too which is a good thing if you paint like me!!!! as the fualkner family said wet and dry between coats but get rid of the fine particles with the hose and a sponge let it dry the go again dont forget it has to be clean dry all the time. And dont paint on a day under 22 degree's C either you'll struggle. get a big piece of carbord to practice on before painting you boat to.... Have fun
