This time it was my turn, at just under 1.2m and 15.5kg bled and gutted, a ripper.
An extraordinary fish! Just love the big croakers!

Thanks All!!
One for the memory banks thats for sure!!
Tackle was Nitro Magnum Butt, Banax si1600, with 20lb braid. Dead baits on snells.
Pound for pound not the best fighters out there, but certainly a highlight. Eating wise also not the greatest, but certainly wont waste a scrap.

"As of yet"??
Sounds a bit ominous..
Nah none at all. To be honest, it's probably my favourite rod, and has accounted for many a good snapper and now a decent mulloway. I also have a Surf Assasin, and did have an issue with the reel seat on that one, but is fixt.
Its the Magnum Butt, Distance Spin to clarify. 4-6kg.

Probably the max for it.
It has a nice solid butt section, but nice flicky tip. I mainly use it for med lures/soft placcie work, its a nice rod!

Ha ha, yeah a bit!!
I kept on anchor most of the fight, but it managed to collect both of Matty's lines, and dive into some structure, so i had to reposition to get it out!
Doesnt take much to pull a yak along, anything over 6-8kg of drag is really wasted, unless your'e anchored up.
