Metro Pelagics from this season
Submitted by JohnF on Fri, 2016-04-29 21:05
Not as many Metro pelagics about compared with last year but we have still got into some over the past few months. Here are a couple. There were a few maccies caught as well but we seem to have eaten them before we got any photos....maccie still one of my favourite fish fresh, although the marinaded YFT last night donated by Langa was pretty good!
We have dropped a couple of very big YFT lately.....still trying to crack the magic 30kg metro YFT.

Great work as usual John!
Great work as usual John! You've got them sussed. I've been putting a few hours in lately to try find some bigger pelagics but only finding small tuna. Do you troll skirts or hard bodies?

What is the deal with that?
What is the deal with that? So now it is a secret what type of lure we use for Pelagics? He's not asking for your secret fishing spot.
In my opinion the more information we share in regards to technique and methods the better. Do you care if someone goes out and catches a couple of Pelagics based on your information? The nature of Pelagics is that they are here today and gone tomorrow.
Each to their own i guess. .

I think JohnF has been very
I think JohnF has been very informative and very open on his techniques over the years.....maybe do a search before firing a shot across the bow? ;-)
That being said, he has removed both the GPS tracking devices I stuck to his hull last year.....lol

Did a few trips with John
Did a few trips with John over the last 12 months or so, chasing different fish, on his boat, on my boat, or both boats.
Finally after about 5 or 6 attempts we get our first metro yellow fin!! Went 16kg from memory
Thanks John for all the advice! been good fun!

I take exception to the shark mackeral ! Sorry. OK i am not from down that way, so i am guessing they aren't a regular catch. The other fish are choice !
