Hey Fishwrecked,
New around here, my name is Josh, i chase pretty much anything that swims, offshore, estuary, beach, rocks whatever.
Looking for someone to join me in the pursuit of a landbased metro mackerel this season, will be starting the campaign probs late november/early december through to may.
Will be spinning, livebaiting and possibly helium (although a newbie to this) NOR.
cheers,
Josh

balloons
when ballooning try not to have fixed, i usually try to have them slide up the mainline with helium
and when livies/ dead baits you use your lighter line and fix it to the mainline so it keeps it where you want it as well as not releasing the balloon as it slides up the mainline

Thank you
Not sure if they're forecasting a screaming Leeuwin current this summer, hopefully they are.

Late in the season
Our crew trolled up a few North metro Spaniards as late as June '21.
The water was still warm enough.
I got one that measured 117cm.
But we didn't manage any this year '22.

peaks
i feel like certain years peak out later in the year, like when diving we usually have seen more in the later season march april may june, than dec jan feb, but more are caught earlier?
maybe warmer earlier in the year and better weather so more caught? but maybe allows more time for them to come down so late season?

Weekend
Also is anyone availible for a squid/sambo session on saturday/ sunday afternoon?
Will be probs at hillarys chasing squid and then if catch some use 1 or 2 to try for the local sambos.
