To max beam or not to max beam

Working on an ally boat design and not sure on 2.7m deck beam or 2.5.
Boat LOA will be around 7.8 from tip to tip so don't want something that is going to broach in a blow.
Has anyone got pros or cons of either from amtowing point of view. I know of the towing restrictions.

Vertical sides
Go vertical from the chines up so you have the widest allowable beam at the chines not at the gunwhale so you can get away with the towing regs. The flare at the bow should take most of the spray away

Broaching is as much a
Broaching is as much a factor of bow design and weight distribution as it is waterline beam.
A sharp forefoot and/or bow heavy will over ride broad shoulders but they all contribute
I am building right now @ 2.7, and noticed that the waterline beam on the Bill Plugs/Oceanics look to be much the same at 2.5/2.7M. (2.2M)
In hindsight I'd likely go 2.5 but you do gain abit between the coamings and especially cabin sides which equates to between the seats.
You mentioned you are aware of the towing restrictions, in general?, or the difference between 2.69 and 2.71M?

Bring a broad shouldered
Bring a broad shouldered gentleman, more space between the seats would be quite nice though i guess it all depends on how much value (both financial and space wise) is between the |__| or \__/ hull shapes.
We will likely be going Plug.
I am aware of the need to get a permit every 3 years between 2501mm and 2700mm and you are unable to drive on the freeway, need oversize signage and a 4 flags.

No beacon required
There is no requirement for a beacon unless your boat exceeds 3mtrs in width. In which case you can't travel at night anyway.

Towing at night up to 2.7M is allowed but requires a beacon
