nice too fussed about weight, i have a set of 6 inch round ones, like the idea of the waketower type to be up in the line of sound etc.
I have heard some good things about the fusion marine gear. do you use it?

tower speakers
Having a few speakers up on the tower of your boat would look awesome. You've got plenty of room up there and they would suit the style of your boat pretty well.
Like you say it is quite good having them up in the line of sound. The wakeboard boats have them up there so that even the person wakeboardng 20 feet behind the boat can still hear the music clear as.
check out some of the online ski shops or ebay or go to some of the manufacturers like these: http://www.indyindustries.com.au/catalogue_product.asp?pid=76
Good luck with it.

i use to be into the whole car audio scene, and boss were those cheapies sold at strathfield.
but i guess being marine radio it a new scene with all the rust and corrosion it will be exposed too...i know my jvc player crack the shts on my boat...but my speakers are still okay...
having said that, i had a mate trying to push me into some alpine marine gear...but it wasnt cheap.
even the cheaper clarion brand was quite pricy...
sorry i wasnt much help - but boss for car audio = nasty.

Weve had fusion gear in our new rig for nearly 12 months now. Did a lot of research on everything that went into the boat and this was pretty much the best value for money we could find. And is good gear too http://www.fusionelectronics.com.au/australia/marine-audio-2/product-type.aspx
