Kimberley Adventure to freshwater cove
Hi guys, this is something just had to share with you!
Just returned from my trip to the Kimberleys, i went to Freshwater Cove fishing safari & i just have to say it was the best thing iv done!!
Day 1 Saturday 30/7 my Brother & I flew into Broome, we checked out the Broome Jetty & had dinner at The Wharf Restaurant, (I did get advice from here to go to divers tavern but we couldnt get around to it) yes it was very expensive but we managed to get in for 1/2 price oysters & I had the best battered fish iv ever had at a restaurant.
They put us up at Broome Time Lodge where we were very well looked after & a very comfortable room. Then a bus collected us Sunday morning from the Lodge & we had a bus trip to Derby then Float Plane to the Kimberley Coast, awesome view from the top!!
Once we were at the lodge we got brunch prepared for us then out fishing for the rest of the day, we caught a variety of Brassy Trevally, GT, Cod & Tuna. My first Tuna i hooked there was a feeding frenzy of sharks which took him, not 2ms from the boat, WOW something to see!! Ended up landing one & sushimi for entree that night!
Second day took us to the reefs & we got a hot Queenie & Trevally session that blew us away. By the end we were all panting and sipping coke to keep some energy up to keep going lol, was another great day!
For the rest of the trip it was a mixture of barra fishing & chasing pelagics, every day we caught at least a good 15-20 fish each, with a mixture of trolling, flicking lures & bait fishing.
Now that was the fishing part, exploring the remote kimberley coast is really something special & its something none of us will forget, so peaceful & perfect.
Below i will attach just a select few pics, but I very much recommend you guys book a trip to freshwater cove, even for the ladies like myself you will be well accommodated for.
Oh & the big groper comes in for a feed everyday, approx 3m long...he's huuuuuge

I will def be saving up to go
I will def be saving up to go again, its just magic that place. no matter what I say or how many pics i take, it will never quite capture the place.
most tours go on a $700 a day type rate. you can go from 5 days to 10 days. This trip also puts you in a room overnight the day you arrive, which we found really great, time to slow down and get ready!

yep the Kimberley is a pretty special place for sure, even mad fishos don't seem to mind stopping fishing and just looking around. Sounds like your trip was worth every dollar. Either that pink shirt got a washed during your stay or you made the deckies do all the dirty work....
