Kayak Snapper
Submitted by Shorty on Sat, 2009-04-04 19:55
It was a lovely day on the water so i thought i would have a bit of a troll round for Snapper,,when i arrived at the launch and found the camera battery was flat i knew i might be on a winner,,if i leave the camera home its always a good day on the water so a flat batterys the next best thing
At 84 cms it put up a good little fight on the kayak but decided to join me for dinner in the end,,some squid joined the dinner table as well.

Would have spun the yak around that one shorty. Well done mate.
What sort of damage do the pinkies jaws due to your lures?

Not really us guys, mainly
Not really us guys, mainly Albee Mangles,i catch one and try and blend iin with his success
Never been one to worry about pussy nets in the yak,,am rethinking that one,,they can flop around a bit at the larger sizes,,no fun if a treble hook imbedds itsself i am sure,,,,i have just been hauling them aboard with 40 lb leader,,works better on the smaller models,,,

Yeah it helps with the
Yeah it helps with the weather as well,,when your batterys flat or you forget the camera conditions are perfect,,but when its fully charge its to windy to go out,,hence the reason i am on the computer right now
Anyway we have pioneered trolling for Snapper in Perth, another first i trolled for squid, got 13 yesterday on the troll,, a kayaks ultra low speed means we can throw out the rules books and make our own rules, because it was flat calm with no wind it was a waste of time drifting,,to much effort to cast and retrieve hence troll slowly and give a little tug every so often.
Cover more ground and can completely work an area in a grid pattern.
