Submitted by fishing addiction on Wed, 2010-12-22 23:46
Hey guys, im hoping to buy my first kayak by friday but i will only have like $500 max, i want one with rod holders and quite a bit of storage or just able to put a small container on the back, stable and about 3m max long and about 70cm wide and more than 20cm high. If you know any kayaks in this price range or you have one and could sell it too me for a reasonable price that would be awesome cheers fishing addiction.

make sure you get one with
make sure you get one with trainer wheels on it. . wouldnt want to see you falling into the drink along with all your gear. just make sure you have all your gear tied down securely and rods tethered just in case of capsize. have a look in the quakka , probably find some bargains in there

Prowler 13
I have a Prowler 13 and a Venturer, the Prowler is the best I've kayaked on for fishing. Very srable, fast and effortless to paddle. Has rod holders and easy to pimp out for over the top fishing.

if not check out
if not check out gumtree.com.au its all local select perth and type in the stuff you want. Like many have said its much better buying second hand in kayaks way cheaper , some retail prices are total rip offs. cheers

Hi all . Anaconda used to
Hi all . Anaconda used to hire yaks out so you can try a hloe lot and best of all when you buy one from them all the hire fees come off the price. BUT there was 2 dumb asses that took them out when there was a strong wind worning and had to get picked up by ses and water police so at the moment there not hireing them out untill its all sorted out.......
I used to take them out every fortnight @ $45 a weekend and after 10 times i handed over $150 for a brand new yak. Its beter then laybuy as you take as long as you like , try any one you like so you know your buying the one you need , and if you change your mind your lost nothing . win win all around
