A first off Gero
hey guys
just a quickie after heading out early yesterday with spooled and the missus off gero... condtions average but quite fishable we left the ramp at 6ish made it to the end of the channel and had flagpole call over the radio that he had sheared his steering poor bastard.... slow trip back in for him we pushed on about 12mile out on the way spying a sleeping whale that upon futher inspection was actually dead... hoped for some shark action as it had some very big bites out of it but not to be we continued on... some very good showings of fish at a couple of spots only bought one really weighty hookup that spat the hooks almost straight away... change of location again had the missus drop down hookup and quick release something and then pack it in and continue burlying up for spooled and i as she had all morning (poor thing)... decided to head back in with a big fat 0 on the board and spyed the dead whale again so checked it once more.... straight away some small bronzies where spyed maybe 4-5ftrs floating around... and then we seen it cruising in straight off the transom heading at the whale... what a site! big white pointer unreal! a first for myself and spooled and it had the missus feeling abit better or was it she just didnt wanna stick her head back over the side? spent the next 1.5hrs circling and trying to get some snaps of the big rig but condtions just didnt help... very fast drift and wind chop.... did manage some good video that ill try post to adz to set up on here of it coming right up brushin the rear corner with its head just outta water and i was spewing as i reacted too slow and missed my chance to touch its back! also had a good tiger come up nudging the prop before taking off... something we will not forget in a long time and a truely beautiful animal! so graceful yet powerful and not a fish id like to see while spearing....
cheers poddy

Just curious, did you report the dead whale to fisheries etc..??? usually they like to know about them, in the case they float to close to shore!!
