First big trip with Sailfish S9

Any body own a Sailfish Boat, I am planning my first big fishing trip to Bernier Island off Carnarvon for a week in the new boat, and not sure what to expect with seas.
boat is 8m Sailfish S9 with Twin Yamaha F200G motors.

I know Cats are a more efficient hull than mono, but my 8m Patriot did 48 knots flat out with twin 225 Yammy's and was using about 80lph per engine. However they were the 4.2l V6 model so it would appear that the new Yammy's are rather efficient

probably correct, as its a bit complex working out and quoting an accurate fuel burn while doing half metric and half imperial.

Sorry guys but is actually , 45 knotts, 48 Knotts last saturday in big swells. Furuno tz12 speed set to knotts and burn is calculated by Yamaha Electronic command link set at km.
actually burns 0.9l/km on command link guage.

Cruise WOT at 45 knott depending on sea, with 3m swell running last week would get 48 knott running home with swell

Checking the math.
0.9km/1L = 1.11L/KM
i.e. 1/0.9 or 11%
All I know is that in my old Trailcraft 640 with twin 70 yamaha 2 strokes, the trip would cost me aroung $90/day pretty well running WOT at 24Kn as compared with the new boat @3.9T cruising 35Kn cost me $150 for the same trip. The Yamaha F200 I-4s I have to say are just a fantastic motor so far. (I had my reservations when ordering them)

I use 1l/km to gauge how much fuel i need for the day and have not gone wrong so far....

If you're looking at coming up a word of caution. The Fascine channel is currently rooted at the moment. Mother Nature has been steadily taking back Pelican point for the last three months and the current channel is down to a knebswoth wide at one point , even nastier is the depth (see fuck all at close to low tide ) I'm running a 5.5 m centre console and I was dragging my bum coming in yesterday . A good option for you is to go and launch/retrieve at the fishing boat harbour , not as good a facility but IT WILL save you from becoming entertainment for the locals... last night there was an 8m ish nice big ally boat being wrestled off the bar by the owners . This morning a yacht was sitting firm waiting for the tide to help em off . Good luck to you!

I have had an S8, very similar set-up to yours, with twin 200 Yammies for nearly a year. Great boat.
Had it on trips to The Mackies, Coral Bay, Shark Bay, Jurien and off Augusta and Cape Nat in that time.
Handles all conditions really well as you would expect.
You shouldn't have any problems.

Besides the excessive fuel consumption, shortened engine lifespan I would of thought? Being propped correctly would become more important.

Pretty well flat out, trim and fuel load makes a bit of a difference.
Was leeman not leeming (miss print in original post). 30K out heading back with 25+ knott winds SW with 2,5m short sea and big swell. I was new to the boat on that trip and was actually travelling at about 20notts. looks slow in the video but you just dont realise how fast your going in this boat as the ride is so soft.
Leeman Sea rescue advised we were the only boat left out as the weather had turned quickly and every body else had come in.

There's a nice little anchorage just north of Wedge Rock . We park a 40 ft cat ( sail ) in there nice n easy . Just want to watch out if it's a howling easterly , you shouldn't have any major issues

Rob H is correct , Leeman has a great new ramp, we used the old one for years and needed a couple of helpers with the old 8m boat but the new ramp is fantastic.
I actually want to give a beach launch a try as I paid extra to have the trailer modified for shallow launching. Jost got to get some time to go to sea bird.

Really impressive boat and tow vehicle combo Ian, there's a "that's not a knife" line available to you that's for sure.
Nice video's and destinations.
My speed display on the chartplotters in our cat shows the speed as kh for kph and I've seen this on other setups, it looks a lot like kn (knots) the way it's presented. I'm pretty sure at 20kn into those seas you would be getting a lot of air.

Sorry folks but only just had chance to coallate and respond to queries above.
I have attached a link to Photos, Video, Costs of our trip to Bernier Island 50KM west of Carnarvon in new Sailfish S9.
Included costs incase any body planning a similar trip, and show fuel usage /day (first fill $409.60 top up low tanks) we budgeted $1200 each, came in at $1173 per person (4 in Sailfish) (3 in Legend)
Recommend Carnarvon Motel, they were great giving us 2 rooms at back of motel for 5 days and an area to park boats with washdown facilties, let us use our weber bbq as well as dining in the motel buffet, not to mention the hot showers, tv, double beds, aircon.
Yep were all old boys (45-55) and want to fish in comfort these days, done my time in caravan parks in swag.
The trip was just fantastic with the boat performing to all my expectations. Weather was great for first 3 days, Blew out wednesday which was good as a lay day, make rigs
fix dek wash, snooze, old boy fisho's worn out.....
Fishing was harder Thu/Fri due to swell, found best way to get baldies was to duck close into cliffs (50m) between swell drop and idle back out (always skipper on helm). Pretty well bagged out each day except first, took a while to find fish.
As requested above Photos of Gauges at 27.3Kn at 4000rpm burning 0.9L.km (53.7L/hr for both 200hp yamies)

I have a 6.2 kevla cat with twin 115 yammys weighing 3 tonne and i get 1.1 liters per km .your getting the same with 200s
