I have no idea where you can buy one, perhaps approach an aluminium fabricator and ask if he can build you one and he may even fit it for you. Have been thinking about doing the same myself, but its still in the think tank.
Alfred , i believe you have a boston whaler or trophy from memory , i would go the agent to see if there is a genuine brand unit made for that boat you have other wise depending what area ayou live theres a few good alli fabricators around that should be able to make up something that will do the job but it will need design work to look correct and suitable for your needs., i would always put radios overhead not sounders etc , to much pounding , good luck
The original one will cost more then I am willing to pay. Just want a simple unit for a 27mhz and external VHF speaker. So tempted to make one out of wood, but I suspect that wouldn't last too long.
If you covered it in fibreglass, you'd have it last quite a while. Not sure if its more work than you want (you should get enough stuff in a surfboard/fibreglass repair kit).
There are other paint on coatings that would waterproof it fine for several years in a marine environment.
Alfred . dont know what area , in balcatta theres oceanic boat builder, brad pretty help full and should be able to make a suitable o/head box otherwise the wood and coat in fiberglass sounds good, good luck

Alfred, give me a call and I may be able to help, if I can get an idea on dimensions, we may have a mould that would suit.
