Corroded Sounder Cable

Hi Guys,

Just wondering if anyone can help, I have a Eagle FishMark 500c sounder. Unfortunately for whatever reason, the cable that connects from the power unit & transducer corroded. Only the pins in the "head" of the cable is corroded. Its a 6 pin plug -- so what i can do is cut the head off, buy another head and rewire, much like  a trailer plug but l'm not sure where i could possibly get one?

Cheers and thanks in advance!

you'll have to go to an eagle distributer, and ask whether they can source one in from their rep, or a worst case scenario is buy a whole new cable from eagle. shouldnt be a major problem trying to source that.

using a light squirt of silicon or electrical spray regularly on the plug, should inhibit water and corrosion.

do you have it wired up to constant power or have you wired it thru a switch main reason is have permanent power running thru your power cable causes it to corrode you should be able to buy another power lead but just some useful info for next time

I have it connected to a battery that is constantly on, seems that is the reason. I just run it off a tinny so i don't have any switches per se.

Wondering if its just more convenient just to get another sounder, but its a pity since this sounder works fine.
