Collapsed fuel bulb

Had my motor cut out the other day, and when I felt the primer bulb it was collapsed like it was under vacuum. I disconnected the fuel line to the tank, heard air suck into the line then I reconnected and re primed then everything was OK again.
Does that sound like something was blocking the fuel pickup in the tank? or possibly something more sinister? Before going out that day I had an O-ring that was letting some fuel escape from where a plastic fuel rail inserts into to one of the carbs, but cleaned / lubed it up and it sealed fine. Could be related?

sounds ike the breather on
sounds ike the breather on the tank was blocked or not undone
but i have had a pin hole in the bulb a few years ago that caused lots of weird problems
getting the bottom line final answer from a bunch of blokes that use false names and put smiley faces at the end of paragraphs is not the best place in the world to get the information you seek.

The tank is an under deck
The tank is an under deck job, with I think two breather pipes that come up. I'll double check those but I reckon they wont be blocked.

Ahh, in that case, its most
Ahh, in that case, its most likely a blockage between the pickup and the bulb. Sounds like you might need to flush it.

fuel stopage
Do you have a fuel filter cartridge expose to the sun? you may have a vapour lock! if you are out in your boat on a hot day and this happens again, you can pour cold water / sea water will do, over the cartridge for one minute and it will release the vapour LOCK.
GOOD LUCK
