Boat suggestions
I am in the process of selling my Trophy 2052 as it was bought as a compromise between fishing and family and after putting 200 hours on it in the last 2 years only 5 of them would have been family hours so with that in mind I am going to sell and get a boat more suited to fishing and diving...
I fish out of Rocko about 40 to 50 Km's out on the average day, would like to get out to the fads easily and I want to start doing some deep fishing..... I like to dive from time to time and I would useualy have 2 other guys out with me.... I also do a trip up north every now and again and I would also like to start doing the odd abrolhos trip...
I have been leaning towards a Bar Crusher 670c or maybe a Surtees 6.1 workmate but although they look great they are also very pricey at +$85k with a few options on them....
I started looking at these boats as they have a good reputation for handeling chop, they will be fairly tough and cheap to run as they are ally and mainly as they have a fold down roof so I can get it into the shed...
Is there anything I should be looking at in the 70-80k price range?
Cheers
Winta

You could get a big striper
You could get a big striper for your money but they're glass. Sounds like you will probably end up with a bar crusher!

Chivers
If your looking at that sort of aluminium boat then I would recommend taking a look at the chivers shark series. Better boats IMO and for the same money you will get more as the bar crusher price is a little bit inflated due to the name. The chivers boats have more beam than a bar crusher and thicker hulls with the same ballast technology.

Surtees - Love 'em
With all the fruit added I found around $10000 difference in price when comparing the Barcrusher to the Surtees. Inflated prices on the Barcrusher... Yes. I would prefer to buy Aussie but thats alot of dollars... and on close inspection I preferred the Surtees anyway. Also Surtees seem to be a little more accomadating with specific requirements. I had the roof raised 100mm so I could fit under (no extra cost). If you havent allready pop in to Aquasports and see Nick (Dont know who Nathan has dealt with, but I've had no dramas with these fellas).
Best of luck finding your new fishing weapon :)
