Bayliner Trophy 2002 - Info seeking
Submitted by gibbs on Wed, 2013-11-27 14:25
Hello all, the Bayliner Trophy 2002 has really caught my eye. They look the goods and good bang for buck. Iv done a bit of research and it seems the yanks bash anything Bayliner with only a few positive comments thrown in. What do red blooded Aussies think of these boats? Anyone been on 1?

Yep sure can. Brilliant. Had mine 18 months now and put it through it paces pretty well! Only problem with mine is it's not 8 metres which is why im going to be trading up haha
The big thing about them are the cheap ones are cheap for a reason. Dirty/ cracks/ old and i wouldnt touch them but a well maintained one is great.
The thing i dislike about the 2002 is most of them come with a 135 black anchor. I wouldnt touch it for a start its too small. I have the 220MPI and i use every pony!
The ride great and dry in most conditions.
Anything specific you are after ? PM me or ask here.

Cheers man!So they ride well
Cheers man! Do you know where they're prone to cracking? Any other crappy things I should look for when buying?
So they ride well and dry which is already a good start. What are they like at rest?
How would the family go in 1 of these things? It would primarily be a fishing boat but occasionally the wife likes to show me how it's done.
Most the bayliner 2002 I see for sale are sold with 125 which I though was a bit small. My current boat is underpowered and ill never make that mistake again.
Theres 1 on gumtree which looks smicko

Nah i havnt really heard of many just seen a few of the yank one that have been sent over with some bad cracking and sun damage.
Yeh under powered not so fun. so you would buy that boat and then by a 12-15k motor?
Great Family boat. Have done a few rotto trips with 5 on board with plenty of gear.
Good at rest i think. Good fishing boat with the full walk around. The Hardtop is a great option though and i think you will find that trailer won't meet the standards which could mean big $$

125hp is really skinny for a glass boat that big - agree with Vinesh suggest that trailer would need a 2nd axle
