Barra...
Well finally made it up to Camballin a few hours north of Broome last week... And what an awesome time we had... Found some nice camping grounds, and some nice fishing grounds.... Gotta kick myself thou for only having 15lb braid on my reels because i got smashed.... The missus got smashed, My missus's cousin got smashed by some BIG BARRA...... Missus's cousin up from Perth for a holiday landed his first barra at 86cm as pictured, other than that we got punished badly, losing up to 15 big barra all easily over 80cm. Two mates up from Karratha had some more succes as they were running 30lb and got about 15 between the two of them... Still even 30lb wasnt enough to stop some of the monsters emerging from under rocks and trees... Quite easily 1m plus..... Great fun nonetheless and we all had a ball....We only kept one barra at 65cm for a feed one night, All other fish were released... Bit of a drama the first day stopping in at Willaire bridge and getting the trailer all banged up on some trees and then having to push it out by hand in 38 degree weather... That deserved a well earned beer... good thing we had plenty....:) :) Pics are of the great camping spot at camballin, Chris's 86cm 1st Barra, and pushing boat out... haha.
1st thing i did when i got home was buy some 30lb braid and put it on my reels ready for the next trip... which will be when i get off this oil rig on the 29th Oct... Woooooooo.... The missus is busy so will be looking for a fishing mate if any one interested....

Good fishing
Sounds like some great fishing Mark. Were you live baiting or casting/trolling?

Good work
That's good work Marky, water temps must be starting to crank up nicely.
Do you troll with the electric transom mount motor or the main outboard?
Supposed to be a few around this way carnarvonite but haven't tried for them personally yet.

bit of both..... mixing it
bit of both..... mixing it up a little to see if there would be any difference with the noise factor affecting fish striking lures.... But we got more hook ups with the main engine going and they werent afraid to take a lure right at the boat either...
