Barcrusher inaccurate fuel gauge

Hello to any Barcrusher owners,
I am troubled by a fuel gauge that always shows empty when underway and have to wait for boat to settle before it gives a reading. It is an analogue gauge but wondering if the problem is in the sender. Got an option to connect it to the standard Yamaha digital gauge which comes with the outboard.
Thanks in anticipation

Having the same problem with
Having the same problem with the analogue guage in the whitley also, not sure if its the standard guage for the suzuki DF150 or not.My Guess is that the sender is at the front of the tank thus when under way and bow up a little it will give you a false reading.Never had a problem on the old boat with the digital yamaha guage.

I have the same problem. When
I have the same problem. When boat is moving shows empty, when stopped shows full. I always fill tank to brim so i know that i always have enough fuel. I have 2010 yamaha gauges and they take a lot to master but I read that you can calibrate them to show a different reading but as yet havent had the time and patience to do this. Ithink the manual said something about the volume in the tank needs to be known before this can happen. I will keenly watch this post for replies , and when I get back might have a crack at it.

I think you will find that
I think you will find that gauge is actually looking at used fuel. That way you program in the size of the tank (say 60l), then it knows it has sucked 30l out of it, 30/60 = 50% ... so the gauge shows half full.
Be careful programming in the size of the tanks, I know some people that effed it it up and it said they had 1/5 tank when they were in fact completely empty and 20km off the coast.

Yeah have the same kind of
Yeah have the same kind of problem I've got the 560WR CC with a 150 yammie on the back and have it reading thru the yammie gauges. The problem being the sender is at the bow end of the fuel tank so most of the time the gauge will be lucky to read more than half. I just make sure I reset the fuel usage each time I fill up which seems to be reliable when I refill the tank, as a backup I have a piece of dowel with a few marks on that I keep in the boat as a dipstick.

Thanks guys
Thanks for the prompt responses guys. Looks like its a standard Barcrusher problem with the placement of the sender. Fortunately a visual inspection is convenient.
