Brother and I decided to dust the nets off last Wednesday and catch up over a few beers while soaking our nets. Plenty of mullet around and saw some decent sized prawns about so well worth kicking for them if that's your thing.

Mandurah estuary
guessing you are talking about the Mandurah estuary and adjacent water ways, the trouble with the mullet is that they are moving around quite a lot and not favouring 1 particular area in my experience of late.

You have to catch your own bait now
To by mullet for cray bait (and tuna heads) is like taking out another house mortgage.
Well done on your efforrt

Brilliant. There was a whole heap of them where we where whiting fishing/crabbing on Sat and we were discussing buying a net. Fresh mullet are awesome crab bait and have outdone tuna heads for me before.
