Back in the saddle
After four months of being off the blue i jumped at this weekends chance and prepped the gear for a day out chasing what i thought was gonna be some inshore pinks. After the first 10 spots without so much as a undersize blackass and a wrass things looked grim, only one spot had bait on it the rest were quiet. I decided to move to a spot ive only fished once before where i got dusted before the weather changed on me and had to turn home. On arriving the sounder showed fish stacked over a ledge so i dropped the jig, one lift and i was on, only small but the leader popped from a previous snag that must've weakened it. So tied on another jig and dropped down first lift on again pulled up a just leagal dhu that went back, called a mate over and 10 mins later something hit the jig hard and started making me piss, i made the call that i was gonna have trouble getting him up with out getting buried in 9m, quick battle and few tense moments at the net had a 78cm 8.7kg dhu onboard 5 minutes later ol mate dropped a cuttlefish head down and pulled up a slightly bigger one and off we went. Another rat on the way in but no pinks. Home for bbq dhu wings with a bourbon to warm me up and get the gear prepped for a beach session with the old boy in the morning.

cold
By the way you are rugged up it looks like it was quite cool out on the water but the is nothing like a good bourbon to get some warmth back in the bones well done on the dhuies.
