hey collie, is it a yearly
hey collie, is it a yearly check over or do you want the full service done.
if its the yearly check that price is not right.
a yearly check is just a lube of all fittings ,and a updated map if needed and a fuel filter.you could also get impellor changed but that all depends on whether your running in alot of dirty water.
a full service which you shouldnt need after only 80 hours unless it taken you 3 years to do includes
plugs
water pump
fuel water seperator change
fuel filter
zinc annodes
computer dianostics
lube
t-stats
they also check head bolt tightness and other stuff.
that price you where quoted would be for a full service.
a yearly check should only cost $200 max
lve done 80 hours in 8 months and wont get a full service done for another year.l to have taken my boat to chivers but lm looking elswhere next time.
muhling marine in ossy park or the one in mandurah.just make sure there a trained etec technision.
pm me if you want any more info.
cheers paul

hey thanks for the advice. i
hey thanks for the advice.
i got the boat when it had done 70 hours now its done about 85. the motor is about a year and 9 months old im pretty sure. becuase it has just over a year left on the waranty (3 year warranty i think).
i took it to chivers a couple of moths ago cause i ran it in shallow water and it got full of sand and overheated. there was no damage just a safety thing that stopped the motor. chivers charged me $480 to clean the sand out and replace 1 spark plug. i thought that was a bit of a rip off.
so do you think i need a full service or just an annual check? or do you recon i should probably ask them?
thanks again, appreciate it.

If you havent had you water
If you havent had you water pump impeller changed after have dredged it though sand id be getting that done. im not sure what they recommend re spark plugs changing intervals, im pretty sure they run iridium plugs which are $30-$40 each. I change plugs on optimax every 300-350 hours. Also is you motor a V6?

Impellers are bullet proof
I cant say from my own experence but a mate of mine in Darwin hsa one 300hrs of constant dredging and at the service was still in great condition (it was changed out anyway but was showing little signs of wear) it was a 75 though.
great motors
